School Based Behavioral Health (BHT)

Phoenix, AZ
Full Time
Mid Level
School-Based Life Skills Specialist

At Zarephath, we believe every child deserves a support system that follows them into the classroom and beyond. We are looking for a School Success Specialist in the Phoenix Area to bridge the gap between behavioral health and academic achievement. If you are passionate about helping students navigate social, emotional, and behavioral challenges where they spend most of their day, this is your mission.

The Zarephath Vision
Our goal is to help families achieve optimal well-being through services that are meaningful, safe, and fun. As a School-Based Specialist, you aren’t just a "provider"—you are a mentor and a strategist helping kids find harmony and success at home, in school, and in the community.

Your School-Based Mission
You will be the "on-the-ground" support for school-aged youth, helping them hit their goals through:
  • Direct Impact: Providing weekly life skills training and counseling sessions tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Skill Building: Facilitating therapeutic and social activities that help kids build confidence and emotional resilience.
  • Collaborative Care: Partnering with parents, teachers, and agencies (like DDD or Juvenile Probation) to create a unified front for the child’s success.
  • Clinical Growth: Working closely with our Clinical Director to develop treatment plans and participate in weekly supervision (Clinical hours toward independent licensure are available!).
The Schedule
Perfect for those who love the rhythm of the school year:
  • Monday – Friday: Hours vary based on school and client schedules.
  • Year-Round Impact: While following the school calendar, you’ll also lead the way during school breaks and summer programming to ensure our kids never lose their momentum.
What You’ll Need to Join Us
Education/Experience: Master’s Degree (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling) OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience in youth behavioral health.
License: Licensed or Associate Licensed preferred (but we help you get there!).
Clinical Knowledge: 1+ year experience in counseling/assessments; familiarity with CBT, trauma-focused care, and Arizona’s 12 Principles.
Mobility: Must be 21+ with a valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle to transport clients.
Clearances: Fingerprint Clearance Card, CPR/First Aid certification.
Physical Readiness: Ability to work in indoor/outdoor environments and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Compensation & Rewards
We believe in rewarding the hard work that goes into changing lives.
  • Starting Salary: $42,000 – $47,000 during your first 60 days.
  • Performance-Based Growth: After probation, you’ll move to a Base Salary + Pay-Per-Unit model.
